Unlike the hustle and bustle that's seen in the many coffee shops in Bangalore, The Kind offers a space that's calming and a coffee that'll pick you up come Monday or dates. The space is very Japanese minimal—white with wooden accents and specks of green. The ground floor has a lot of natural light coming in and it's where the coffee bar and bakery is. The lower ground floor houses more seating and the kitchen, while upstairs you've got conference rooms, high chairs, and smack in the centre of it all, a zen garden. This is probably the space's highlight along with the cosy nook under the staircase. Put on your headphones and work or read a book. You can sit around the zen garden too. We noticed a few people taking a break from their calls to unwind with some gardening.
Coffee is of the speciality kind, the food is vegetarian and vegan, and the bakery is quite good. Iced Vietnamese and the Cola Kombucha gets this writer's thumbs up along with the Sweet Potato Fries. The Tofu Kimchi Bap and the Sourdough Tarties sound like something to try the next time. Oh, and the pain au chocolate hits the spot with its flaky chocolatey elements.
