We love grocery shopping—it's the best kind of therapy there is. Sometimes, it's more expensive than therapy, but you know what? Eating your way out through some chocolate-coated macadamia nuts or whipping up a fettuccine alfredo is also one way of dealing with your issues. Bangalore's got a really good grocery game and there are many grocery stores in the city that stock up on everything from your everyday staples to all the fancy ingredients required for your Chef's Table-inspired meals. Here are our favourite grocery stores in Bangalore that you must check out.

New Fruitland

This grocery store is our go-to for picking up hydroponics, Thai bird's eye chillies, imported lemons, fresh tofu, and a whole bunch of fresh produce, including your everyday staples. We love that you get a lot of Asian ingredients here—think galangal and kaffir lime leaves. The hydroponics include baby spinach, microgreens, and even burger tomatoes. The store has a collection of mushrooms, including king oysters, portobello, and shiitake. They also stock up on homegrown avocados, and bananas of all kinds and some of the best seasonal fruits. We love the fact that you can come here and either pick up kilos of fruits and veggies or just literally a piece of your favourite ones. Check out their spices and condiments section as well as the Kerala chips section too.

The store has a whole bunch of ingredients that are ideal for cooking North Eastern delicacies. You can also find things like red potatoes and some fresh, exotic leaves that you can use to make your own version of your favourite curries. Plus, the store stocks up on all kinds of noodles, condiments such as king chilli pickle and chilli flakes and utensils such as Longpi black pottery cookware, wooden spoons and pestle and mortar.

The Korean supermarket is for anyone who loves their K-food and can't live without bibimbap and ramyun. Pick up SPAM, different kinds of noodles, broth powders, curry pastes, and many other staple ingredients for Korean cuisine. We spotted gochujang, gochugaru, kimchi sauce, and even different flavouring salts. They also have a range of snacks, such as prawn chips and flavored nuts. Don't miss out on their cold section, which includes frozen meat, octopus pickles, and mandus. The store also has a well-stocked section dedicated to drinks and desserts.

We check out this place at least twice a month to restock our Asian sauces, noodles, and condiments, along with picking up some bread and bakery products. Plus, they also do a whole bunch of wine. Oh, and definitely don't miss out on their snack section that includes cookies from Chips! Ahoy and Cheetos.

Another Malayali IKEA, this department store in Carry Fresh, has a lot of brands and products from the Gulf that any Gulf returnee will be happy to find and weep in joy. NRIs, you'll find brands like Al Marai, Nido, and Nesquik here! We love that their ground floor is filled with almost every condiment that you might require for all your Asian, Mexican, Italian, Arabic, and, of course, Indian cooking. Their cold section has lots of drinks from the Gulf (including Rani Float to Capri-Sun) and imported chocolates, too. The first floor has all your homeware, stationery, cookware, pet care, and bathroom and cleaning essentials, making it an ideal one-stop shop.
