Imagine a friendly neighbourhood wine bar that lets you put your hair down after a long day at work or lazing away on the couch. Now imagine it being inside a glass house. Pair all of that with a selection of some stellar wine, sounds wine-derful right? That's Wine In Progress (W.I.P) for you. Curated by Tarini Kumar of Wine In A Million, the weekday bar pops up at The Conservatory between Tuesdays and Thursdays with a lot of fine wine and tapas-style bar snacks from Chef Karan Upmanyu.
What we love about W.I.P is that it's a no-frill and no-fuss wine bar. You can be somebody who knows their pinot to cava or who's new to wine but would love to learn more about aged grapes. Team Wine In A Million will not just serve you the wine but also give you insights into wine, what to look out for, and of course, ensure you drink and make merry. All the wines have been thoughtfully curated to ensure a diverse flavour. Think rosé from Provence, sparkling wine or cava from Spain, and red wine that uses grapes used in port wine. And yes, prosecco is there too. You can try them by the glasses and they will be around to help you find your wine.
While you are in it, Chef Karan's small plate menu is definitely something you will want to try. Think Baby Octopus, Kung Pao Eggplant, Grilled Koji Prawns, and Lo Bak Go, which is a turnip cake with a Doubanjiang glaze.
You can pick up a weekday slot that's convenient for you and head to W.I.P with your friend(s) and make it a fun evening.
