While measuring the streets of Bazaar Road in Bandra on a hot, sunny afternoon we found an oasis of DIY materials.

Zain Laces is an unassuming shop housed in a slightly protruding structure on Bazaar Road. Being in the business for quite a few years now, the store is filled to the brim with laces, ribbons, borders, tassels and a whole lot more. As you walk in, the attendants promptly ask you about your needs and are well-informed about the stock. We found the borders both quirky and traditional – the ones you can use to jazz up a lehenga and also the ones you can slap on a cushion. The laces here start at INR 20 per meter and go up as per the intricacy of work.
