Crease-Free & Non-Cakey: Here Are 6 Tried & Tested Concealers

While shopping for this concealer, I found that there aren't too many shade options, but of the five, none are too off target for the Indian market, though they could well have done with more shades on both sides of the spectrum. The medium warm was ideal for my skin tone, and it matched perfectly well. This concealer was smooth and not cake-y. It was super helpful when I had a face injury. I was not really trying to conceal dark circles (I may have them, but I'm proud of the sleepless nights of reading and Netflix-ing, OK!). It was easy to apply, and luckily it didn't crack after drying. With water and sweat through the day, it does obviously rub off. If you sit tight in fairly controlled conditions (in an office), it will last all day. Luckily, it did not even turn an ugly colour after the day's wear. Phew! For the price, though, it's a tiny amount.

I could easily find the one that closely matched my skin tone among the nine shade options. When I received the Maybelline concealer, the shade was pretty close to what you can see on the screen. Though I won't still call it the perfect shade for me. The concealer is easy to apply and lasts a long time without forming cracks or turning grey.

Availble in around 18 shades, it was easy to find the concealer shade that perfectly matched with my skin. This full coverage concealer is little thick but still comfortable to wear and apply. It remains smooth and doesn't cracks or turn grey at the end of the day. I usually set it with the Maybelline Fit Me loose powder and it works well.

As lazy as I am, I would definitely dislike a long makeup routine, but that shouldn't stop me from looking fab for basically anywhere I am headed to. This concealer plus foundation is a great find if you're someone like me who wants to get ready in a whiff. Finding the right shade was a task, but the creamy formula made it easy for me to control the coverage. It even comes with SPF 30, reducing the need to apply 10 layers of skincare and makeup products. I apply the Lakme Absolute wet and dry compact powder to avoid the creases and greyness at the end of a long day. On special occasions, when I absolutely care about how I look and put in effort to get ready, I add a layer of colour correcter before applying the concealer. This helps to avoid any last-moment mishaps with greying or endless touch-ups.

Available in 17 shades, I found my perfect match on the first try. I have wheatish skin and this matches my skin colour well. Since I have combination skin and I mostly use concealer under my eyes, I make sure to set it with powder so that it doesn't budge or form creases. I tend to sweat in the Mumbai heat and humidity, and yet it doesn't oxidise my skin. Though, it does not last 16 hours if you travel a lot like me throughout the day.

I have been using this concealer since the day I learned what concealing is. And the number of empties I have of this product is testament to its quality. I have genetic dark circles, which are generally harder to conceal than those caused by a hectic lifestyle, but this one gives me no grief. In my experience, it stays for a good 5-6 hours, unless heavy exercise or an exorcism is on the itinerary, for which you don't need a concealer anyway. I think at the very end of your day, it might start going a bit grey, but nothing a light touch up can't fix. If you're like me and like to go sans foundation, this is a good pick because it is the right balance between light and high-coverage.
