What Makes It Awesome

Take a book, leave a book,' reads a board on a white wooden box outside a residence in Versova. It might leave one puzzled, as it looks like a large-sized birdhouse, but what this really is is a small house of books called The Little Free Library.

The LFL is the concept of building neighbourhood libraries in corners of the world, which is absolutely free for everyone!

Readers have taken it upon themselves to build a small library, maintain it and all that people in the neighbourhood have to do is drop in a book if they are borrowing one. The library we stumbled across in Versova is Mumbai's first Little Free Library and has been around for a few years.

What's My Pro Tip?

It is situated outside Tahiti CHS on Juhu-Versova Link Road. Our tip to you would be to carry a book along to drop when you borrow yours. Remember, remember that it's open 24x7.

Anything Else?

When we visited the library, we found it sparsely-stocked but the good news is, you can go any time to contribute a book or two. More the merrier, they said and right they were! We left behind our tattered but brave copy of Christie's 'Hercule Poirot's Christmas' and quickly snuck out.

To get there, you have to google map the location {Tahiti CHS} and you'll be right there!

You can also build your own Little Free Library. Just check the procedure on { www.littlefreelibrary.org } and go on, spread the word{s}.
