There's A Workshop On Documentary Theatre That You Cannot Miss

What's Happening?

There's a Documentary Theatre workshop called Starting Realities that's going to be held on August 11 and 12, that uses existing documentary material (such as personal stories, newspapers, articles, interviews, letters, archives, photographs or videos) about real events and people as a starting point for performance.

This interdisciplinary workshop will focus on performance making and use of documentary material towards creating art.

This workshop series is designed to build pedagogy, audiences and bring together varied stakeholders keen on working with Documentary Theatre.

Make A Note

The workshop is being held at The Mumbai Assembly and is open to all, and is facilitated by Anuja Ghosalkar who is the founder of Drama Queen. Drama Queen, her Documentary theatre company, a first of its kind in India, focusses on personal histories and archives to extend the idea of theatre to create audacious work. The focus of her theatre practice is undocumented narratives & archival absences.
