If you've not experienced a trek in the monsoons, make sure you check out a one-day trek to begin with! Mischief Treks is organising a special one to Bhim Dev fort in Igatpuri this coming weekend, a quiet spot outside the city where you get a panoramic view of the entire region. If you're a beginner, this trek is touted to be easy, which should be a fun thing to conquer and tick off your wishlist.
You get to cross fresh water streams, walk through a dense forest, trek up the hill fort, catch glimpses of waterfalls, get to know the history behind the area and also, take a lot of photos to populate the 'gram. The meeting point is at Virar station, at the east skywalk, at platform 3. You will then proceed to the base village by a private vehicle, enjoy breakfast, reach the base and start the trek, reach the peak, have lunch, explore the view and then, make your way down and head home.
The price is INR 750 for early-bird passes, and INR 900 for regular tickets; which includes vehicular transport to the base village and back, breakfast, evening tea and snacks and trek expertise charges. The exclusions are the train tickets, lunch (there's no option to arrange for food up the hill), and other personal expenses.
