Urban Ladder

Though Urban Ladder specialises in functional and well-designed furniture, their selection of table lamps will light up any living room. Our favourites are their Tripod lamps, which can lend a smashing statement to any corner of your home. Looking for a funky lamp for your study or work table? Then Urban Ladder’s selection of really well-designed (think minimal) study lamps will add that extra dimension to your work space. Our favourite: The Walley lamp that also multitasks as a pen stand. Embroidered cushions, picture frames, mirrors, wall accents, lighting, decorative trays and boxes, jars and canisters, the home decor sky is endless on Jaypore. We have our eyes on some of their kitchen (especially their Jars and Canisters section), storage and dining goods also, which we would love to use as home decor.

Looking for a retro-style telephone to perk up your space or even a stately gramophone to add to your living room? Then Pepperfry could be your new bae with an entire section dedicated to these vintage statement home decor pieces. Plus, their categories of desk decor, lamps, tea lights and candle holders, wall art and accents, boxes and trays will offer you enough to jazz up your home. They have a huge section dedicated just to lamps and include chandeliers, sensor lights, filament lights, and pendant lamps, among regular choices such as floor table and wall versions. These guys should be your one-stop-shop for eclectic, beautiful original art works turned into lovely framed prints. Bangalore folks, Kulture Shop has a series of prints dedicated to the city’s pushcarts and vendors. Get them now!

Our absolute favourite, the Ahmedabad-based Gaatha offers one-of-a-kind pieces that include traditional puppets, copper and brass lighting, ceramic chimes, wooden combs, Kavads (miniature cupboards from Rajasthan used for storytelling), Andhra’s Bidriware boxes and decor, grass mats, colourful leather framed mirrors, and more. You need to get your hands on Gaatha’s Kutch lacquer ladles or even their brass kitchen sets. You can even hang them up as wall decor.

Looking to add a bit of whimsy to your space? Then Propshop24’s selection of cheery dream catchers should do the trick. From relatively simple ones to multicoloured complex versions, there are enough choices here. Not a dreamcatcher type? Then just go for their cheeky posters, all framed up for you.

Animals like Goobe (owl), Kuruvi (sparrow), Oinkston (pig) and Jumbo (elephant) serve as a theme for the products here. To celebrate Indian art and design in the form of home decor, head over to Indiholic, a store located in the Whitefield area of Bengaluru, that boasts of a varied collection of items that will turn home into a zen-loving abode. You will find hadwoven rugs and floor cushions, kalamkari hand-painted lamps, and handmade wooden flowers that you can welcome home! Indiholic is also in the process of designing its new website, so keep your eyes peeled!

Olie’s floor, pendant, wall and table lamps are all stunners. They are made out of handwoven banana fibre, cotton (like matka) and come in beautiful patterns such as kola inspired by patterns drawn by Tamil women outside their homes, florals, and even the koi fish. From solid-coloured basics to gorgeous printed ones, Olie’s selection of cushion covers are winners and so is their napkin sets, table runners and tea towels.

One of the early brands to jump on the home decor bandwagon, India Circus’s designs are of course all about the Indian aesthetic. Now if you're looking to revamp your space, it's also important to start with the basics, and yes, we mean home linen. Be it cushions and curtains, to tablecloths, table runners and bed spreads to, The Yellow Dwelling, a  Bangalore based brand has it all in bright pops of colour, plenty of quirk and modern prints. We're talking refreshing teals, peaches and rose golds in contemporary chevron patterns, Aztec prints and more! Made with only soft cotton and natural fabric, this brand knows how to take care of your skin too! Once you're done shopping for linens, we suggest you turn you attention to their quirky home decor like the Acacia wood hand turned bowl candle (great for gifting) and the carved wood and asymmetry metal lamp shade.

Suite Number Eight

This one's a whimsical brand that has home decor and dinnerware that we think is aesthetic AF. Definitely shop for the bright yet somewhat pastel coloured pomegranate vases or the blush and ivory pomegranate bowls to store your beauty essentials. Fruit not your thing? They got pout lip trinket dishes, and regal looking cake stands and tea sets that the Queen of England will surely approve of!

Eco-friendly peeps, we've found you Engrave, a brand that is all about fair trade and nature love. You'd be overjoyed to know that they work with local artisans and craftpersons to create stunning home decor in the for of ashtrays, storage boxes, clocks, lamps, furnishings and furniture (we can vouch on the quality!). We especially like their "designer dispenser", a warli art rustic wooden tissue box and an eye-catchy pastel rose and teal chest of drawers, that's compact as it is beautiful!
