What Makes It Awesome

Health freaks and fans of Ayurveda, say hello to G.O.D. Cafe (Goodness of Dairy). Nestled in the tiny lanes of one of Mumbai's busiest neighbourhoods - Dadar, this newly launched cafe is built on the core principles of Ayurveda and kickstarted with the objective to serve organic and sattvic meals. One dish at a time. Oh and fun fact, it's the first of a kind A2 milk cafe in Mumbai. A type of milk that is known to have the same benefits as mother's milk.

Every dish here takes us back to our Indian roots and reinforces the Ayurvedic philosophy - 'Food is Rasa' ie the one that nourishes our senses and body. Now without much delay, I'm going to dig into their wholesome and healthy menu. The best part? Their entire menu is free of three whites: maida, white sugar and white salt. Wow, impressive! Plus, all their ingredients are sourced locally from farmers.

Their diverse menu is divided into beverages churned with rich dairy (chai, coffee, milkshakes, wellness shots, detoxifying juices and more), salads, snacks, main course and Indian desserts. A huge yellow neon signboard reading the cafe's name welcomes you in. Warm yellow lighting, cosy corners, funky cow murals and bright-hued pillows - the cafe sure gives a very contemporary Indian decor vibe.

Being a lover of Indian cuisine, I enjoyed their sattvic and lip-smacking delicacies. I tried (and highly recommend these dishes) their saboo dana wada, paneer masala, dal tadka and multigrain palak paratha. And trust me, with every bite, you can tell the difference between the other meals and this one aka whole sattvic meal. I'd say it's the epitome of comfort and a satisfying meal. Of course, no meal is complete without dessert. Because, hey meetha toh banta hai! They've got an array of options there too including walnut sheera, mohanthal, badam ka sheera, malpua, phirni and lots more. If you're not a fan of Indian sweets, def try their ice creams. I personally would recommend the filter coffee ice cream.

All in all, Ayurveda meets culinary arts at this innovative cafe. And if you're looking out for some homely options to order in food for your family gatherings or simply to satisfy your craving for something comforting, this is your place.
