Not many know, but the Armenians have been part of India's rich diversity for more than 700 years now. From their celebrating Christmas in January (yes, they still celebrate it on Saturnalia, like it was done before Pope Julius adopted December 25 as the Christmas Day) to the iconic Calcutta structures that they had built before the community had started to dwindle - this walk would be nothing less than an interesting history lesson; only you won't be turning pages, but would be visiting the spots, instead.
Join Let Us Go and walk leader Anthony Khatchaturian to explore the Armenian culture on April 14, as he takes you on a recce around the city. From the old Holy Nazareth Church in Brabourne Road to the Armenian College, the cemetery, Park and Queen's Mansions, Stephen Court (they were built by legendary Armenian real estate developer J C Galstaun), this walk promises to be a revelation about our city. To sign it off there'll be a hearty and lip smacking meal of Armenian delicacies at Anthony's place, and our favourite dose of adda about the Armenian culture and history.
