Choux Pastry, Sandwiches & A Cup Of Darjeeling: Book Yourself For This High Tea Right Away

A unique tea appreciation workshop with tea pairings, tea trivia and a big, fat food spread is happening at The Salt House restaurant in Shakespeare Sarani. In collaboration with Karma Kettle (a team room and company), it will be a memorable afternoon celebrating the very British ritual of high tea. The teas have been paired with a delicious spread that includes sourdough bread tea sandwiches and tea cakes in flavours such as mango, Malibu and mascarpone made in-house by the team of chefs at The Salt House.

This is your chance to know more about Calcutta’s favourite drink — tea of course, what it pairs well with and of course tuck into a slightly modern take on a traditional English high tea.

You will begin with crudites and hummus paired with Tahiti — an iced tea made with hibiscus, strawberries and cockscombe flowers. Next up will be an array of gougeres or baked savoury choux pastries paired with Darjeeling First Flush and Blue Lagoon, an iced green tea with butterfly pea flower and Bengal lime. The grilled tea sandwiches include brie and caramelised leek, ham and gruyere and more.
