Chandratapa combines Indian handcrafted prints and contemporary bag designs like a dream. Named after founder-designer Chandratapa Sengupta, the label does hip ethnic cloth bags in fabrics like ikat, tie-dye and even block prints. We loved the addition of leather handles and pom poms. Their latest collection showcases solid colour fabrics with small, cute fish and bird motifs – quite summery, we think.
These bags have a great (the leather straps and handles may have something to do with it) that make them appropriate even for fun office spaces, especially if you have a bit of a bohemian ethnic style going on. Just grab a colourful ikat bag and that’s all the accessory you will need to jazz up an LBD. Chandratapa does all sizes – from the smallest of purses and wallets to medium-sized clutches and handbags all starting from just INR 300 and going upto INR 1,700.
