What Makes It Awesome

The only problem my family has with my love for food is, the typical "Bahar Ka Khana", "Sehat kharab hojayegi" gyan; all of which is unfortunately true! Because that's what restaurant food is all about. All we want when we go out to eat is food that tastes better and different than home. And all they (the restaurants) focus is on preparing delicious food so that it sells, no matter how! So in this game of guilt and greed, the hygiene and nutrition take a beating! And since no one is complaining, the show goes on!

That doesn't kill the big elephant in the room that has been waiting for ages to be addressed! Is it ok to overload the pizza with cheese? It is ok to have an inch thick layer of oil in our curries? We all know it's not and we still don't wanna talk about it because its gonna kill all the fun and the food will be no different from the boring healthy home food! So we decided never to think or talk about it again!

Well, apparently someone decided to not just think about it, but think out-of-the-box about it! Why can't tasty and healthy stay together on the same plate? Why healthy has to mean leaves, raw vegetables and fruits all the time? Can the sinful ingredients be replaced with healthy ones?

All the curiosity, passion and innovative thinking ended up in creating Sante Spa Cuisine.

Sante Spa Cuisine is a restaurant that has revolutionalized dine out culture and tries to bust the myth of villainous "outside food".

Sante Spa Cuisine serves everything you never want to give up on and still doesn't give you anything you never want to take!

Sante Spa Cuisine serves, Pizza, Pasta, Biryani, Hummus and Cheesecake and what not! What sets them apart from all other restaurants is you can hog on their food without the fear of punishing your digestive system with iodine, fat, cholesterol and calories. Sante Spa Cuisine uses non-iodized salt. There is no all-purpose flour in their kitchen. They use jaggery instead of sugar. They use Bajra flour for bread. They use high fiber rice. And the oil is Olive oil!

So you see its quite possible if you have the will and heart to make healthy food!

The Ambiance:

The ambiance of this place can easily take another 1000 words to be described but let my pictures do the talking because it's already been a long review.

The Food:

We started with a Roasted Tomato Garlic Broth which was a thick tomato-based soup. One sip of this soup and we were convinced that the food is not going to be boring/ A soup full of flavors and aroma! Each and every ingredient was evident on the palate. The other soup was Chiffonade of Kayle and Barley Broth. This one was again a subtle combination of flavors and aroma!

Then came something that looked like two scoops of Ice Cream with wafers but it was actually Hummus with Bread! The green Hummus was spinach based and the pink one was beetroot. The bread was actually multigrain crackers. This dish is a classic example of Sante Spa's concept. Gorgeous and Delicious food that doesn't compromise on taste and keeps an eye on our health at the same time. Forgot to mention they serve food on wooden and ceramic plates. I don't know what good it carries but I'm sure they're better than normal cutlery in some way.

Southern Spiced Chicken Breast Saute: This starter was everything we want. It was oily, it was spicy, which means it was tasty. But it doesn't mean it was heavy! It was healthy which is the beauty of Sante Spa Cuisine.

Caesar Salad is one of my favorites and it is also healthy, already. Never thought it can get healthier! The Caesar Salad had Quinoa, Chea Seeds, Basil seeds, Non-iodized salt, Olive oil, and Water Melon. Of course, there was chicken. A different kind of Caesar Salad which was way tastier and healthier!

Mediterranian Quinoa Salad: This was a bomb of nutrition. Apple, Walnut, Feta Cheese along with typical salad greens, this was the tastiest salad I've ever had. If I go back to this place, Mediterranean Salad will be my first order!

Now we had Kebabs. Yes, kebabs. But wait, it was vegetarian. Now you may think it was either Paneer or Potato based kebabs. Welcome to Sante Spa Cuisine. The kebabs were made of Red Lentil (Masoor) flour. They were so succulent, you touch them and they break. But again, they had the perfect veg kebab taste. They were served beautifully with Bajra crackers.

Farm Fresh Pizza: Moment of Truth? How can you make pizza without all-purpose flour and cheese? Well, the crust is from Ragi and wheat flour and Paneer replaces cheese. And then they're topped with some exotic veggies that your favorite pizza brand will never have! It was so colorful, I asked the owner "is it even baked?"

It was and it was baked to perfection.

Then came the Biryanis!

Bajra Risso: A gluten-free risotto khichdi made with all the good ingredients I've been talking about!

Quinoa Pilaf Biryani: This was the heaviest dish of the day! It was a fusion Biryani where Quinoa was
