What Is It?

From April 21-23, the streets of Goa will be laden with fruit fresh from the Konkan belt at the colourful and annual Konkan Fruit Festival. This is a community-run event which is aiming to showcase the diversity of seasonal and local fruits.

Who Is It For?

This fruity fest is for a. obviously those who like fruit b. are looking for a holiday c. want to support farmers, local farming and the cottage industry.

Why Should I Go?

Because every holiday shouldn’t turn into a guilt trip cycle of eating chips for breakfast for burgers for dinner, right? Choose this local festival as your excuse for a getaway, and it will be healthy too. Plus, besides local less-available fruits will be available too. If simply fruits are not enough, there are fruit products there too – including local fruit wine, homemade jams, squashes, etc.

Anything Else?

It is taking place in Panaji, the capital of Goa at the main Panjim Promenade. You can skim through their Facebook page here for details.
