The second wave of Covd impacted so many industries, but by far one of the hardest hit has been the F&B industry. And one of the institutions that have taken a major hit is Mumbai's iconic dabbawalla service, the OG Food Delivery service many of us started out with. With local trains shut and offices closed, they found themselves struggling to make ends meet.
It made sense for the restaurant industry to tie-up with this established network to create a delivery system that benefited both parties, without the need for a third-party aggregator. Something that Riyaaz Amlani, Impresario Handmade Restaurant's CEO & MD recognised. Working with them helps sustain this iconic institution through these tough times. They're working hand in hand with the Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Charity Trust to make food deliveries to our homes seamless and efficient. So now, whenever you order directly from Socials, Smoke House Deli, or Salt Water Cafe, Impresario Handmade Restaurant's eateries, you'll have it delivered through aamchi Mumbai's classic tiffin service - the dabbawallas.
We hear they are also all set to launch a Ghar Ka Khanna Subscription service that will bring delicious, freshly cooked meals to your doorstep. These subscription services from Social's own kitchen will start at INR 6,000 and be delivered by the tiffin services in Khar, Vikhroli, Versova, and Lower Parel.
