Lights Out: Five Magical Things You Can Only Experience In Mumbai At Night

Shortcut

Night weaves in a sort of magic to the air of Mumbai; with lights twinkling and moods swirling and the whole city coming to life. We don’t have to tell you how amazing the nights in the city of dreams really are, but just as a reminder, of why we love this city the way we do, here are 5 magical things that are best experienced after the sun has gone down.

The Heritage Route

Take your cameras or phones and head to any one of the heritage buildings in town for a perfect selfie. We are not kidding; with lights reflecting off the walls of Victoria terminus {in all its gothic glory} or Gateway of India, it offers the perfect background for your photography skills.

Cruise The Coastline

Take your SO out on a sunset cruise, overlooking the skyline of south Bombay. Not only is it romantic but a great stress buster too. Best time to go on the yatch? Full moon night. Check out a yatch tour here.

Midnight Cycling

You read that right! There’s a cycling tour that starts at 11.30 PM on Saturdays, and takes you on a 5 hours joy ride, starting at Colaba causeway with pitstops at Marine Drive, Worli Sea Link, Shivaji Park and finally ending at Bandra, and it all costs INR 990 per person. Don’t know about you, but we are definitely signing up for this experience. Interested? Check out for information here.

Late Night Drive

If you haven’t done this already, its time you night revelers get on with the program. Invite some friends, get in a car and just drive down from Bandra to South Bombay via sea-link. When at queen’s necklace, park your car and step out. With tea and coffee to accompany you over a great conversation with your friends, do remember to capture the moment in a selfie to create a lasting memory.

Munching At Fort

The fort area {along with the entire SoBo}, completely transforms during the night. The old Victorian structures, the sea-breeze and something amazing at every corner, Fort is definitely one of the most amazing places to visit during the night. Head to Ayub’s {a slightly cheaper, less-crowded yet equally good version of Bade Miyan} at Fort for the late night munchies.

Now that you know all great places that turn magical during night, do remember to capture them on your smartphones. And if the light is low, you can always turn on the moonlight glow feature of Vivo V5 phones, after all, if it isn’t #Instagrammable, it isn’t worth it, right?
