Don’t lie, lockdown has us all simping over fictional characters from the innumerous TV shows we’ve binge watched over the past year. Be it Patrick from Schitt’s Creek, Sutton from The Bold Type or Simon from Bridgerton, we’re obsessed with the strong and b’ful characters, now aren’t we? So, I created a petit list of Shows for the days when you just don’t feel like doing anything else other than lying in front of the TV.
1. Bridgerton
Now, for someone who hasn’t yet watched Bridgerton despite all the hype it got since last year, umm watch it NOW please! The series has just 8 episodes, is set in 19th century London and circles around the love story of Daphne Bridgerton in Season 1. From the strong and feminist characters, drama & scandals like no other to costumes and diversity in casting, the series is ahead of its time and is nothing like you’d ever imagine. Masterpiece!
2. Never Have I Ever
Ever wondered how your life would have been if you were living in the USA while you were in high school? Damn yes, we all do! Well, here’s a chance for you to quit imagining about it and see it visually through Devi’s life. The series is full of drama and comedy and takes us through the life of a first-generation Indian-American teenager.
3. Delhi Crime
The series is based upon the story of the Nirbhaya Gang Rape Case happened in Delhi in 2012.The crime drama revolves around the Delhi Police Investigation into finding the men who perpetrated the crime. While the devastating incident can never be summed up into words or visuals, Delhi Crime is well executed and tries to uncover the harsh realities faced by the women of today.
TW: Death, Kidnapping, Murder and Rape.
That’s it, Those are my 3 ‘one season’ series recommendations for you to watch! Can’t wait for Season 2 already! :)
