MCM- commonly known as Meherchand Market- just got a whole lot cooler!
We’ve been following the folks at Bhane, and have been mighty impressed by what they’ve done over the past year. Unless you’ve been on a Facebook hiatus, you know that Bhane sells clothes. They’ve come out with videos and shoots that’ve possibly featured at least one of your friends. You may have been invited to/crashed a Bhane party, too. And in all that excitement, you probably bought a tee or a button down shirt from their online store.
If you’ve been a skeptical online shopper like me, but have endlessly browsed through their website, I’ve got good news. Bhane. WIP, the brand’s first store, opens on the 8th of December in what’s continuing to be the hit “It-Market”, MCM. What we know is this- it’s right next to Cafe 88, it’s a store cum “experiential space”, and as the name suggests, it’s work in progress. The bhane team is hoping to constantly reinvent what they do with the space, how they engage with customers and, step by step, figure out how this adds up to the brand’s big picture.
I’ll skip the brand-building and marketing jargon and simply say this – they sell great clothes, and I know this because I’ve seen colleagues and friends prance around in crop pants and their new denim shirts. In fact, a friend described them as “what could become the Gap of India”. Premonitions aside, I’m hoping to finally make a purchase from a brand that lives up to its hype.
