#FestiveEdit: 7 Contemporary Diyas To Add A Modern Twist To Your Celebrations
Crystal And Brass Akhand Diya
Contemporary, modern diyas are making big waves this season, and that's why we love this brass and crystal one. The oil/incense holder is made of brass, plated in gold, while the cover is an intricate crystal pattern which emits a rather enchanting design when the diya is lit. It claims to be crack proof and does not overheat. We love it because it will make for a great festive gift or an addition to gift hampers.

Antique Lotus Diya Stand - Small
This one by Mason Home is a rather unique and antique metal accent piece that is perfect if you don't want to litter your entire home with festive decor and wish to keep it simple. This one near a temple area, or on a side table with its gajra floral arrangement will do just the trick.

Ethnic Carved Brass Diya
We simply love this diya for it's unique, yet very traditional carving while sticking to its contemporary tag being a refresher from the typical terracotta ones. Made of brass, this one is hand crafted which makes it all the more loveable. It's slightly expensive, but since it's on sale, we'd say it'll make for a perfect addition to your festive decor.

Handcrafted Tea Light Holder
Not a diya as much as it is a tea light holder, we chose this one because of its unique wooden hexagon shape. It's perfect for people who do not wish to bother with the messiness of oil and cotton and want to stick to tea light candles. This can easily be used all year round too and a good gift for someone who loves their candles and candle holders.
Kamal Tealight Holder
Our absolutely favourite diya/tealight holder is from Nicobar, a brand that has floored us time and again. This particular piece makes for a unique gift that is inspired by the terrains of the snow-laden Himalayan highlands, crafted with iron and brass. The twig like design gives it a very minimal, and modern touch and will instantly (and literally) light up anywhere you decide to keep this. Even though it's a tad expensive, we think it's still worth spending bucks on.
Lotus Diya
These lotus diyas come in a set of four. Made of metal they give off a very traditional, yet rustic vibe. What makes them contemporary is that they're not terracotta which means they can be easily reused year after year making them worth your buck.
Silver Plated Brass Diya
This Om etched brass silver incense stick holder and diya is handcrafted made of glass which makes it all the more beautiful. It makes for a perfect gift or to add to your mandir.
