A bunch of organisations like Harmless Hugs, India HIV/AIDS Alliance, The High Commission of Canada (amongst many others) have come together this year to organise the fourth edition of Tarang—the Delhi International Queer Theatre & Film Festival (DIQTFF).
This festival will see street theatre performances on HIV, various plays related to LGBTQ+ like Lihaaf/Ehsaas, Mard, Anhad e Kathak (a dance drama on HIV/AIDS) and films like How Was Your Day, Zara Nazar Utha Ke, Misswomania and more. As for the talks and discussions, Simran Shaikh, Arvind Gaur and Sonal Mehta will be some of the speakers at the festival. There will be a bunch of other musical and theatrical performances too (along with refreshments!) to ensure that everyone has a good, good time.
Also, on Dec 1, we're told that the free HIV test services will be made available for all the attendees. While sensitisation and discussion are important aspects of the festival, it is, at the end of the day, a celebration; A celebration that the queer movement now has a better direction (since Section 377 has been abolished). If you're someone who believes in this movement, loves theatre and film, we're sure you'll have a great time.
