Dialogues With Cinema - Black Comedy

What's Happening?

We’ve always relied on humour to get us through a tough time (like lockdowns and quarantines and social distancing and coronavirus) but there’s something about dark humour that’s REALLY distracting. Dialogues With Cinema is an online session for those of us who love adding some shock factor to our jokes. You can expect a whole lot of laughs and knowledge, too, about a somewhat taboo genre in the mainstream. If you liked Borat, binged all of South Park and Family Guy and loved cult classics Pulp Fiction and Fargo, you’ll want to check out this online event.

When you join the session, you’ll get to discuss black comedy as a whole and after that very healthy discussion, you’ll get to flex your dark humour knowledge on all the other attendees - be it a dark movie, TV series or even a particular scene you found especially shocking (before you burst out laughing, of course.) But if someone's joke is darker (funnier) than yours, eat them although clowns do taste funny... Sorry, we couldn't resist making this joke.

How’s the venue?

The session is online on Google Meet, once you register they'll send you a link to join. Do make sure you find a spot with good internet access for uninterrupted streaming.

Make a note

When they say dark humour, they definitely mean it. If you’re someone who’s a little uncomfortable with the idea of jokes that can get personal or offensive, you’ll want to pass up on this and keep an eye out for future Dialogues With Cinema sessions you can participate in.
