Whoever says coding is a tedious job, has probably never heard of Mimo, a fun-tastic programming app whose easy user-interface and small, simple lessons are helping us achieve our digital dreams, one day at a time.
Available on iOS and Android, the Mimo app lets us set a motive for learning to code and then designs a personalised curriculum for us. To build a project, to become a developer, to advance our career, or just for fun - there are four motives to choose from along with our current experience level and the daily time commitment we're willing to give, which can be anything from five to 20 minutes. We get to learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript and the code is real, there's immediate feedback, and there's a ton of examples and real-world projects to experiment with.
"Learning to code on the go" is how Mimo calls its offering and it couldn't be truer. From learning to build buttons to adding images, the lessons fit in between breaks (or those random musings) and the explanations are easy enough to understand for beginners like us. Mimo has a strong community of five million users as well, which is very active and helpful to each other.
While we started with Mimo's free offering initially, we have since migrated to the pro version which gives us unlimited access to all lessons, is ad-free, allows us to publish projects to the web, and also has certification for every skill we master. The pro version comes with a seven-day free trial and after that, it's worth INR 4,999 a year or INR 849 a month. The yearly version saves money and is highly recommended.
