Situated in a village in Satkhol on a ridge 100 metres away from the main road, this place is a heaven for writers or anybody who wants to be in a peaceful place and just wants to write, read or be inspired by nature. The place is owned by two published authors namely Chetan Mahajan and Vandita Dubey. They together run the Himalayan Writing Retreat here for people who write or want to write or even if you have poetry to finish or need some inspiration to write a piece of article, this is the best place for you.

From Delhi this place is just 7 hours by train (5hrs Shatabdi + 2 hours taxi) and 5 hours if you take the flight to the nearest airport which is Pantnagar. There are four flights a week from Delhi. A cab from Pantnagar to Satkhol takes about about 3.5 hr
