Valentine's is around the corner, and if a romantic getaway (which is all about love in caps) is what you seek, right now is the time to plan. V-day lands on a Tuesday this time, a little far away from the weekend but still manageable in our opinion, or perhaps an early celebration is fine too. Time to cosy up, you lovebirds! This is our list of romantic getaways near Delhi.

Note: Prices may fluctuate

The Tree Of Life Resort & Spa, Jaipur

With luxurious private villas built tastefully with sandstone and lime, this boutique resort is one of the exquisite properties of Tree Of Life Resorts & Hotels. It has 13 private villas with stunning interiors and an even better view surrounding them. Pick from deluxe villas for your stay, and spend your nights cosying in the private pool. They even have a couple's outdoor spa if you’re looking for something more intimate.

Price: Rooms start at INR 18,000 per night

Norwood Green, Palampur

Located in the beautiful valley of Palampur, Norwood Green offers a breathtaking view of the Bundla tea gardens. They have boutique cottages that are warm and inviting; you can go for a tour around the valley on bicycles or even learn the art of pottery-making with your other half.

Price: Rooms start at around INR 7,000 per night

Punjabiyat Farm Resort, Amritsar

If your idea of romance is the sort that Raj and Simran shared in DDLJ, Punjabiyat is a place you may just be able to recreate that rustic experience at. Inspired by the authentic rural lifestyle of Punjab, this place has mud cottages (with four-poster beds), acres of farm lined with seasonal crops and tractors and tongas that you can hop on to for a quick ride around the farm.

Price: The standard rate for their cottages is INR 10,000. Keep a lookout for discounts before you book.

Pro-Tip: To book your stay with them, you'll have to pay for your rooms in advance. Once you connect with them, they'll send you an email with bank account details and other related information.

Suryagarh, Jaisalmer

Take a luxury getaway to Suryagarh to experience how we imagine royalty once lived. Inspired by the beautiful Amer Palace near Jaipur, Suryagarh has suites and havelis (that come with a private terrace and butler!) to fully immerse yourself in. Don’t miss the Thar Dinner and Breakfast with Peacocks if you do end up going here.

Price: Each suite is priced differently. For instance, the Fort Room is approximately priced at INR 7,000 per night.

Pro-Tip: Contact them to inquire about their revised reservation and cancellation policies.

28 Kothi, Jaipur

Sometimes you need a spot that feels like home but actually isn’t. For that, we present to you 28 Kothi. A boutique guesthouse, this property sits in central Jaipur but remains cut off from the hustle-bustle of the city. Hide out, read in their private library, dine in the courtyard bathed in warm night lighting, or get out and explore as much of Jaipur as you can. Either way, it promises to be personal and exciting.

Price: They have different packages with a base price of INR 7,900 approximately.

The Fort Unchagaon By Aspen, Garhmukteshwar

For a splash of luxury as you take a trip with your sweetie, look no further than Fort Unchagaon. A heritage property situated 100 km outside of the city, the place perfectly marries old-world charm with modern-day convenience (and royalty!). There’s plenty to do here; boat cruises, horse riding, outdoor games and, our favourite, river-dolphin sighting.

Price: The base price is 5,500 per night (approximately).

Pro-Tip: The place is pet-friendly.

Khanabadosh, Mashobra

A quaint Bed and Breakfast situated in the majestic hills of Himachal, Khanabadosh is a beautiful homestay with a wonderful host and her furry buddies. If you and your partner share the love for books amongst other things, this place will be your solace.

Price: There are four rooms, each priced differently. The rates start at INR 9,500 (approximately).

Narendra Bhawan, Bikaner

If you're in a mood for a luxurious romantic getaway with a royal setting, you should definitely consider this. Dive into their magnificent infinity pool, relax in their stunning verandas or simply enjoy those after meal drinks in their grand Drawing Room.

Price: The rooms start at INR 6,500 per night

Pro-Tip: The place is dog friendly and requires no prior medical tests before entering the property.

Tikli Bottom

Less than 10kms from the city, Tikli Bottom is ideal for when you need to re-connect with your partner when you don’t have enough time. With four rooms within the property, stroll hand-in-hand on their large, royal lawns or stay in and get a full-body massage. Our recommendation? Ask them to set you up outside, and spend the night having a deep conversation under the stars.

Price: The rooms start at INR 23,500 per night.

Hill Fort, Kesroli

The lesser-known cousin of the flagship Neemrana property, this 14th-century fort is not as grand in size, but packs in plenty of charm. You can take a bottle of wine up to one of the many terraces of the fort walls, or even dine at the dining room, where we can only hope for your sake that they will be serving Laal Maas. The rooms are cosy and tasteful. Plus, we even had a Rajasthani performance troupe drop in the evening we stayed.

Price: Starting at INR 5,000 (approx.)

Laxmi Vilas Palace, Bharatpur

If nothing else, a few years of living in the nation’s capital (or capital region) will definitely turn you into a forts-and-palaces snob. This one, we’re happy to report, does not disappoint. The high ceilings, checkered floors, chandeliers, and marble inlaid walls will make you & your SO feel like royalty. The most popular tourist attraction, only minutes away, is the Keoladeo National Park, which attracts over 350 species of native and migratory birds. And you can also check out Lohagarh Fort and a few temples around.

Price: Starting at around INR 5,500 (approx.)

Tarudhan Valley, Manesar

Tarudhan Valley is a gated golf community with villas that work as holiday homes for Delhi & Gurgaon families (and their lucky relatives!). There are a number of resorts around and if you're into golf, you must check out Classic Golf & Country Club. Not too far away, there's also a strawberry farm (if that's your jam)! The Lemon Tree Hotel in Tarudhan Valley is a popular property. Known for its lush green golf course, swimming pools and calming view, this hotel is highly rated. You can also check out the Surjivan Resort.

Price: Starting at INR 7,000 (approx.)

The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa

If you told us that the busy corporate mill of Gurgaon’s Cyber City was less than an hour away from Westin, we’d have a hard time believing it. We loved the single villa rooms, with beds perfectly suited for sinking right into. There isn’t much to do outside the immediate area of the property, but with sprawling lawns and some good dining options, you have the perfect excuse to trade sightseeing for a poolside Pina Colada.

Price: Starting at INR 15,000 (approx.)

Samode Palace, Jaipur

The breathtaking architecture and serene location (tucked away under the shadow of lows hills) make Jaipur’s Samode Palace a must-visit. The exclusivity and peacefulness will make you feel like royals and the palace offers a full health and spa set-up as well as a lovely Mughal garden to explore. You can enjoy horse and camel safaris and they also offer romantic and special honeymoon packages that'll make your trip much more special.

Price: Starting at INR 11,800 (approx.) Check with them when you plan to book as the prices keep varying.

Villa Mountain Crest, Kasauli

While July, August, and September are the best months to visit Himachal, Kasauli remains one of our fav childhood getaway destinations even during the remaining months. You can enjoy delicious food, check out temples, churches and so much more. We recommend you check out the Villa Mountain Crest (which is near Kasauli) if you like the sound of delicious food and super warm service.

Price: Starting at INR 6,000.
