The allure of the 80s will never fade when it comes to fashion. The latest being the power suit that’s blowing up on New York runways. A revolution back in its time that broke the taboo of what women should wear or not wear, power suits are welcomed back with open arms by the modern, unapologetic, material girls of today.

Drawing up examples from as recent as the past week, they were spotted on the likes of the ever so powerful women Deepika Padukone, who rocked an all-black one at Cannes ‘22, and Camille Vasquez (Johnny Depp’s lawyer) who wore a classic all-white suit during the trial. The internet has been going a gaga over power suits, and rightly so.

We’ll go out on a limb and say that nothing beats the classiness and sophistication of them. Another great thing about them is the versatility and easiness of styling options. You don’t need much in order to make it look chic or cool. And they can be worn on several occasions, all you have to do is switch up different elements (like: shirts for crop tops, or sneakers for heels and vice versa) to make it work. We scoured the internet for them, and here are 9 of our favourite ones from various brands.

A statement white suit is classic and a must-have. Ideal for a super chic power suit moment, we love this 3/4th white straight-cut blazer with notch lapels. They have matching wide trousers that go perfectly with the blazer. Plus, we love that the pants are high-waisted and would look bomb with a bandeau/crop top. They also have the blazer in black and a pastel-y purple that can be easily styled for different occasions. H&M is a great stop if you don't want to invest in a suit. Though the fabrics might be short-lived, they are an affordable option.

Now, if you’re a badass and want to show it with your fashion choices, then look no further! Zara's bold and vibrant printed blazer comes with matching trousers making for a striking suit choice. Though we’d say with something like this, you’d have to be really careful of what to pair it with. We’d suggest, with your hair, a sleek top knot, a self-coloured shirt/blouse, or none at all! Whatever you choose, you’ll be turning heads, and we love that for you.

Satin Blazer with Trousers - Zara

This is another one from Zara, who host several more power suits in their collection. Satin is in fashion, and we’re celebrating thanks to how well the fabric falls, and how it has the capability to make every outfit look uber-glam, chic, and classy. We spotted this (that gave us 100% Komal Pandey vibes) and have decided that while it’s striking and bold, it will make for a great night-time party outfit. Pair it with the matching trousers, style some loose curls, add strappy heels, some minimal makeup, and you’ll be sorted. But if this is not your colour, they do have more satin options like this.
