There are so many homeless/abandoned animals that roam the streets of Delhi NCR. Being one of the busiest cities in the country with lots of vehicles and subsequent traffic at all times, innocent animals often become the victims of rash driving and speeding cars.
It’s important to bear in mind that most animal rescue organisations and hospitals are understaffed, and have limited resources. So, if you’ve reported an incident and are expecting help, do be patient and stick around. It’s even better if you could try dropping the animal to the closest hospital or shelter yourself, instead of waiting for an ambulance, as most shelters have just one vehicle and lots of emergency cases to take on. Once dropped off, do follow up on the animal’s condition and ensure that they are released in the area they were rescued from.
Here are a few emergency contact numbers that will come in handy for most species of animals in case of an emergency or road accident.
