Thirsty? These 5 Thekas In Delhi Have The Best Liquor Selection

We’ve rounded up a list of some thekas with the most variety  you can check out from 9 AM to 6:30 PM whether you’re in South Delhi or Central Delhi (and East and West for good measure). PS- since these are government-owned liquor stores, please don’t expect to find fancy stores you see in malls.

    DTTDC Outlet, Vasant Kunj

    DTTDC Outlets

    Vasant Vihar, Delhi

This is probably the favourite liquor store for Vasant Kunj and Vasant Vihar dwellers. You’ll find pretty much everything here; from Indian brands to international, beer to whiskey, and at many price points. You’ll also find tons of flavoured vodkas here if that’s your thing.

Govt. Wine & Beer Shop, South Patel Nagar

    Govt. Wine & Beer Shop

    Patel Nagar, Delhi

If you live in Central Delhi, this store will probably be your best bet. It’s located close to the Patel Nagar Metro Station and you’ll find a decent collection of imported wines here. Fancy movie night?

    DTTDC Outlet, East Of Kailash

    DTTDC Outlets

    East of Kailash, Delhi

Closer to the GK area, most liquor stores are shut but we managed to find this one that’s open! If you reach at a good time, you’re likely to find crates of beer before they run out (which they probably will soon). You’ll also find other spirits here, mostly international.

    DTTDC Outlet, Janakpuri

This outlet is located right where you’ll find Cinepolis. Nope, can’t watch a movie but shop no. 1 here is the DTTDC outlet where you can go and find a bottle of whatever you’re looking for in West Delhi. We preferred this one over the other outlet in Vardhaman Janak Market.

    DTTDC Outlet, Preet Vihar

If you’re in East Delhi, this was the best liquor store we found. Compared to 2 other outlets in Mayur Vihar that are presently open, this one had more fancy options and we’re suckers for a good base for our G&Ts.

As stores are sure to run out of some types of alcohols before others, YMMV on the selection they have to offer. We say make the most of what you can get, a lockdown isn't the time to be (super) picky.
