You know what? We get it. We haven't travelled at all this year and we're more than annoyed to be cooped up at home. We feel you! But don't you think it's about time we explore the hotels in our neck of the woods? While planning a vacation might be tedious at the moment, nobody is stopping us from having a staycation. And thank god, these hotels have been following all safety measures to ensure we're having not just a great staycation, but also a safe one!

On that note, here's a list of eight hotels in Hyderabad that are perfect for a staycation.

Avasa

Not too far, not too close — Avasa is tucked in the center of the city and if you're looking for quality time with bae, this one is a solid hotel to check into. Two reasons why you should go here: great Asian food and skinny cocktails at Ohm, Avasa's in-house restaurant and artsy rooms. What we love about the hotel is the pool, but we recommend checking with the staff before using it as there might be some regulations during the pandemic.

If you're feeling extravagant, book yourself the Gallery Suite, which is as regal as it can get. Designed by Ed Poole, you also get to score complimentary cocktails here.

Mercure Hyderabad KCP

Charlie Chaplin themed-rooms, anyone? Tucked in Somajiguda, Mercure Hyderabad KCP offers lovely themed rooms with a city view. Wondering what are the other themed rooms? Allow us to dive in — the Comic Room comes with Charlie Chaplin paintings, bedspreads and it's entirely done in black and white (apart from the wood work), Green Room which is a nature-inspired room and has Instagram-worthy Kalamkari couches, and then there's Nizam Darbar which spells opulence. The rooms also come equipped with a rain shower (say what?), working desk, iPhone docking station, and make for comfortable working space too.

The in-house restaurant, Cayenne, is known for its iconic food festivals, biryani, etc. So, don't forget to grab a bite here, okay?

The Westin

Got a special occasion coming up? Make your way to The Westin at Mindspace. This 5-star hotel is home to luxury, great food, and a pool-side brunch. All the rooms are impeccably designed — take your pick between presidential suits, luxury suits, deluxe suits, and executive suits. No matter what you pick, you are in for a treat! The best part about The Westin is its in-house restaurants. From Casbah (which comes alive in the evenings) to Prego for an all-Italian affair — you'll be spoilt for choice and we're not kidding. If you don't mind the splurge, get here.

Hotel Mint OTM

At Hotel Mint OTM in Gachibowli, you're signing up fun and lots of craft beer. Because OTM is located right on the property which means you can drink and eat your way to glory. As if this isn't a reason great enough, the hotel is so quirky that you won't stop Instagram-ing any corner. All the rooms are bold and beautiful — say hello to dramatic wall decor, lampshades that are shaped like shoes, and the occasional burst of colours. And the best part? It's pocket-friendly too.

Ellaa Hotels

A staycation at Ellaa Hotels is all about binge-eating their breakfast buffet and spending a quiet time. Located in Gachibowli, Ellaa offers three types of rooms — Ellaa suites, executives suites, and superior rooms. Each of these is designed with a modern home touch, and the wooden interiors and earthy decor lend a calming air to the rooms. Take our word and go for the Ellaa Suite because it comes with a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom with multiple shelves. Both the rooms have TVs, a fridge, and the best part? The bathroom has a bathtub. Their in-house restaurant is open till wee hours of the night and we've ordered in wine, pasta, pizza to complete our Netflix nights.

Art Boutique Hotel

Three things that define Art Boutique Hotel would be pocket-friendly, Instagram-worthy wall art, and city-view rooms. Tucked in Gachibowli, the best part about this hotel is it has Yum Yum Tree in its premises. Which means you can go for mandi with your squad. Offering two types of rooms — Standard & Business — all the room share similar decor, a mini-bar, WiFi, TV, etc. In fact, you can also go for steam sauna or jacuzzi at an extra cost because all good things cost a little extra. Besides, you can wrap up the whole stay under INR 6,000 per night.

Manasarovar The Fern

There's nothing quite like Manasarovar The Fern! Tucked in Begumpet, this star hotel is home to grandeur — spot those stunning chandeliers, charming rooms, and outdoor restaurants. This eco-friendly hotel comes with rooms that are fit for royalty. Here's the thing though — you'd want to spend most time at their in-house restaurants because Twilight offers a lovely view of Hussain Sagar while Liquor Works (an English-style library bar) is where you'd want to suit up for a drink or two. This one also offers stunning sunset views. Another interesting feature is Green Button — a bed-side button that reduces the power consumption.

Taj Krishna

The fact that a staycation at Taj Krishna is quite pocket-friendly is making us plan our weekend already! If you're doing that too, here's what you should be excited for — elaborate meals at Firdaus, pool-side dinner dates at Al-Fresco, and rooms with a view. While the breakfast buffet will keep your mornings sorted, spend your evenings strolling the landscaped gardens. The sunset views from the rooms are quite great — so if you want to spend quiet time with some coffee and books, it's a me-time like no other!
