In a city like Hyderabad now brimming with hipster detox juice bars in every hook & corner, Haji Ali Fresh Juice established its presence & has consistently maintained its quality over a year now. Moreover, Haji Ali juice centre in Hyderabad completed one year of their successful operations in the city & to celebrate this grandeur event, we visited this place for lunch with a few new menu items getting launched.
Starting some lip-smacking street food of Mumbai, we got a Basket Chat which had a crispy basket overloaded with a whole bunch of ingredients like Aloo Tikki, papdi, bhalle, chickpeas, chutneys, sev & loads of Dahi. This undoubtedly is an indulgent affair to savor & a must recommended chat item from the menu.
Next up Special Kachori Chat which had a really crunchy base of crispy poori topped with tangy-zingy chutneys, sev, chaat masala and hung curd; an absolute wonder creation from the team as it had the right balance of flavours between the masala, curd, chickpeas & chutneys making it a splendid dish & another recommended chat.
It was followed by Chana Sev Puri & Dahi Bhalla, I loved the chana Sev puri which was a combination of papdi, sev, boiled potatoes, moong, onion and assortment of chutneys like green chutney and tangy date tamarind chutney making it simply irresistible, however, Dahi Bhalla could have been a bit better in terms of the curd provided as it was of lighter consistency, thereby the taste didn't hit the right note.
Next up we had a couple of amazing Mumbai street food variants like Cheese Pav Bhaji, Special Pav Bhaji, both of these were really delectable & tasted quite well. To add it up we got some special Panipuri which had each puri resting on a tiny glass of spicy mint water and the date-tamarind chutney in a separate bowl. This allowed us to fix the spice levels to suit our individual tastes and the explosion of flavors that resulted was incredible.
Moving onto the specialities at Haji Ali, Fruit Cream creations of the seasonal fruits. If you are a fruit-lover, their fruit cream is heaven served in a bowl. The flavours of custard apple, lychee and chikoo are everyone’s regular here or you could try custard apple or the mixed fruit or strawberry Brownie cream. We got the strawberry cream, New Zealand Kiwi & Custard apple cream from the seasonal variants; clearly custard apple cream tops the list in terms of taste & texture, nonetheless Strawberry cream even made its taste mark on us as it had the fruit puréed along with the cream and topped with chopped bits of strawberry.
Similar was the thing with Mixed Fruit, Kiwi & Custard Apple cream as the sweetness came from the fruit and the cream was indeed fresh.
Nevertheless, if one wants to experience some street food of Mumbai paired up with some exciting fresh cream & Falooda fruit creations but easy on the pocket, then Haji Ali is the place to visit immediately to enjoy these delicacies. You can surprise yourself by asking for their seasonal offerings & be prepared to be left spell-bounded by the creations.
