Schools Shut? Let Your Kids Learn Through These Global Classrooms While Sitting At Home

Parents, as schools across the nation shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic, we get your worries about how it will affect your kids' studies and ability to learn. So we put together a list of online resources that will help your kids keep learning and growing even while they are at home.

Scholastic

The educational company has launched a Learn at Home website that provides daily courses for students from pre-kindergarten to class 6 and higher. Keep your little ones academically and creatively active with Scholastic’s rich and meaningful daily lessons. The courses provide approximately three hours of learning per day, including writing and research projects, virtual field trips, and geography challenges. The website is accessible on any device that has internet and no sign up is required. It will remain free and open indefinitely.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers your kids to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. Be it math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, or more. Check out their website for daily schedules you could adopt as is or modify to better suit the needs of your kids. You can use their self-paced, interactive content exercises, videos and articles absolutely free of cost.

Tynker

Always wanted to teach your kids how to code but never got a chance? Well, now you do. Tynker is the #1 Kids Coding Platform, where lots of kids learn to code every day. Tynker offers self-paced online courses for your children to learn coding at home, as well as specially designed curriculum for schools and camps. From beginner puzzles, where your kids learn the ABCs of coding with engaging story-based challenges, to solving dungeon puzzles, where they can program armies to follow their commands.

Beast Academy

Does your child hate math? Then, maybe you can use this time to make your child love the numbers. Beast Academy is an attempt to solve the problem of kids dreading mathematics by presenting the subject as the beautiful, creative discipline it is. They do so with challenging problems, engaging explanations, and a focus on the hows and whys of mathematics. It's the curriculum we wish we'd had when we were aspiring math beasts ourselves. While you’re flattening the curve (of Corona spread) ensure your child’s graph of understanding mathematics goes up with Beast Academy.
