What Is It?
Food trails have been many in this town, but what sets this one apart is that it not only involves food and the gastronomical adventure at large, but that it also focuses on their history. You’ll get to know about a particular dish’s roots in regional history, and the stories behind the flavours {and get the recipes!}. The eateries that will be covered are Campari {near Dover Lane}, Radhubabur Dokan {near Lake Mall}, Apanjon {Rashbehari} and Cafe Pudding {Hazra}.
Who Is It For?
Anyone who’s curious about the history behind local cuisines, family recipes and the city’s iconic dishes. Additional bonus? The backdrop of the Durga Pujo festivities! And for those who have other plans during Pujo, worry not, there’ll be an encore of the same food walk on December 3rd as well.
Why Should I Go?
What is Durga Pujo without some pet {read appetite} pujo? And what can be better than a ‘pet’ pujo where you also pick up narratives about the food you are eating?
Anything else?
The food walk begins from the Trader’s Assembly Mega Shop at Rashbehari Avenue. The price of a single ticket is INR 499, and a child pass is INR 199. The ticket/pass is inclusive of guide charges, water bottles and soft drinks. And it is non-inclusive of the food you want to taste {so you’re free to try out anything you want and as much of it as you wish to}. Organisers recommend you carry around INR 500 to splurge on food.
So, We’re Saying…
This Pujo, treat yourself to a plateful of interesting food, and even more interesting stories!
