In the past few years, we've noticed all our friends turn into gin snobs, and before we knew it, we've tried (and critiqued) gin renditions from Goa, Jaipur, and beyond. With this renewal of interest in this herbaceous and earthy spirit, it's only natural that bartenders from all over Mumbai have been flexing their creative muscles, and coming up with stellar gin-based drinks.

If you're a gin lover, then read on to find out more about the nicest gin cocktails in the city, according to us!

LBB's Tip: Best Homegrown Gin Brands.

Kalinda, Malad West

This fine-dine has amazing food, and we're glad to report that the drinks are just as lovely. They've got a gin cocktail we always order when we're here, which is called A Miracle in Kalinda (INR 625)It's made with fresh celery juice, fresh green apple juice, passion fruit syrup, mint leaves, and tonic water. It's refreshing, and the taste of celery and green apple is a combo you definitely don't see on many menus!

Blabber All Day, Borivali West

This instagram-famous location in Borivali has equally photogenic food and drinks. We especially love the Sin-A-Gin (INR 495).
It's made with peach syrup, lime juice, apple juice, and the game-changer ingredient, cinnamon syrup!
It adds a surprise you don't expect when you sip on it. If you want to try something else, then check out their house G&T, made with lavender tea and fresh rosemary.

The Terrace - A Maiden Affair, Andheri West

This lovely semi-rooftop bar in Andheri offers surprisingly yummy food, chic interiors, and a conversation-friendly vibe that is rare to find these days. Their signature cocktail —The Maiden Affair (INR 485) happens to be gin-based. It is served in a fairly huge glass with a generous handful of whole spices, botanicals, and some passion fruit syrup, this cocktail is heady, but super pleasant to taste, while being gin-forward!

Poco Loco Town

This uber-fun Mexican-inspired joint is quite famous for its stellar bar eats, wholesome food and drinks that are delicious as well as unique. We have a few favourites here which is the Hendricks-based Higo Lima, and the Pina Loco. The Higo Lima is made with their house-made fig syrup, finished with lemon wedges, which is a taste we'd never tried before. It's also a guilt-free cocktail, since it's made without sugar. The Pina Loco is quite reminiscent of a Pina Colada, though it's light and clear instead of milky and dessert-like.

Asilo, St Regis

If you're feeling fancy, then consider Asilo for a sundowner or dinner. You've got to try the Blinking Blood (INR 1200). We promise it'll be nothing like you'e ever had before! Made with fresh red beetroot juice, summary cucumber and honey water, topped off with tonic, this is a drink that not only looks unique, but tastes surprisingly delicious too. They've also got a super yummy Lychee Tea (INR 1400) which is a mix of lychee and jasmine tea, topped off with fresh mint, with gin adding a lovely juniper note!
