The weather demands that we put on our best (Mumbai-friendly) winter clothing and enjoy this rare, pleasant weather while it lasts. Mumbai’s winters are fleeting, much-loved by everyone in the city, and definitely do give us bragging rights - it’s lovely, without ever being freezing (sorry, Delhi!) and there’s barely ever any unseasonal rain… Or hail (sorry, Bengaluru!).

So, to celebrate this ephemeral thandi, we think it’s best to run to the rooftop restaurants that dot the city, take in the foggy views, and enjoy a few sunsets before we’re all sweaty again. Here’s an exhaustive list!

Chenab, Vashi

We’re kicking off this list with one of our favourite places in Navi Mumbai! Chenab is a dependable fave when it comes to yummy North Indian/Mughlai food. Chenab offers that chill dhaba-style ambience, with lip-smackingly good dhaba-style food, as well. While it’s wonderful all year round, pairing the rich, makkhan-laden food with this weather is insurmountable.

Get the Chicken Tikka (INR 375), the Tawa Subzi (INR 360), all to go with the Cheese Garlic Naan (INR 160). Wash it all down with some chhaas or lassi!

Mostly Grills, The Orchid

The Orchid is a wonderful hotel chain - their eco-friendly philosophy is something we truly appreciate, and their push for sustainability in the hospitality industry is commendable. Pair it with killer food and chic stays, and you’ve got a winner. Mostly Grills is at Vile Parle East, quite close to the airport. The views are wonderful, and since the buildings in the area tend to be shorter, it’s an uninterrupted skyline.Get the weather-appropriate Fried Cheese Quenelles (INR 1,199), the Minestrone Soup (INR 549), the Tawa Surmai (INR 1,299).

Rike, Andheri

Rike’s a year-round haunt, to be honest. We love heading here when we want great music, yummy food and smashing cocktails that don’t break the bank. Get the LIIT (INR 650), and do try their Bento-style meals (INR 380 onwards).
We love their range of small plates, because they’re perfect to share, and they’re also spread across cuisines.
We suggest starting with the Loaded Nachos (INR 340), and the Paneer Hot Garlic (INR 340).

Dome at The Intercontinental

You’ve seen this place featured in marriage proposals, year after year, haven’t you? Well, for good reason! The unobstructed view of the sea from this ultra fancy rooftop restaurant is *chef’s kiss*. When you head here, make sure your phone’s charged. You want to make the best of the lighting, and the views, at sunset!

Order the Avocado Cones (INR 750), the Rock Shrimp Tempura (INR 1220), and the Dome Tiramisu (INR 625) FOR SURE!

90 Ft Above, Borivali

90 Ft Above has a pretty unique concept. The menu spans across cuisines, but they’ve still managed to maintain a certain level of authenticity. They offer buffets and a-la-carte options, and during the winter months, their al-fresco seating is to die for. It is quite high up, so the view’s lovely!

We usually get the Deconstrcuted Chowpatty (INR 320), the Pani Puri Shots (INR 260), the Burmese Curry, or the Burnt Chilli Garlic Rice/Noodles (INR 360).

Price for two: INR 1,900 without alcohol

Versova Social, Andheri

Most of us have spent a night or two dancing to Bollywood songs here, haven’t we? With their generous happy hour deals, lovely interiors and great vibes, it’s hard to not love this spot. However, the outdoor seating does tend to get neglected every now and then.

Do make it a point to pick a table that’s on the rooftop this season, and you’ll witness a stunning sunset, and views of Versova beach, too! We’re pretty sure you already have your own favourites at Social, so we’re going to skip the recs on this one.

Price for two: INR 800 without alcohol

Bayview Cafe, Colaba

Until very recently, Bayview was as #HiddenGem as they come. We couldn’t believe it - this place has the cutest decor, wonderful views of the Gateway and Arabian sea, and yet… No crowds? Shocking!

Anyway, head here for the yummy food and breathtaking views. The menu is filled with dependable classics, and you really can’t go wrong, here.

This one also happens to be one of the more affordable places on this list.
