Chord Road may not offer much in the shopping department, but we found a factory reject outfit that sells quality clothing for a steal!

What Makes It Awesome

One wouldn’t assume that you can’t buy anything fancy at all near Iskcon Temple (Orion Mall doesn’t count), but if you’re dragged there by family or friends, you stroll into Fashion Factory 300 meters away and get a different kind of blessing (if you know what we mean) on a budget.  Sandwiched between NEXA and Enamor on the same road, the factory reject outlet  is testament to the saying “never judge a book by its cover”. True to its name, the store looks exactly like a factory…that deals in fashion, and sells an interesting mix of clothes from formals to frilly lingerie.

Women’s blazers in basic and popping colours start at INR 800 and men’s at INR 1,000. They sell some limited winter wear like trench coats and sweater dresses that look like they’re straight of the ramp (we thought we saw a hint of Burberry and Elle on the labels). They also have some basic faux leather and bubble jackets in a range of sizes. Trousers for men and women are between INR 500 and INR 1,000 (and INR 200 for leggings), with denims starting at INR 800. We also saw t-shirts for about INR 250 and shirts at INR 350 for when you’re replacing your wardrobe on a budget. The pieces available are great for acquiring versatile low-key components that can be styled universally with your basic OOTDs.

The icing on the cake is that they sell some innerwear at dirt cheap rates. Bras from Enamor in all sizes and patterns sell at INR 350, and panties start at INR 40 a pop (they may or may not have been made for Victoria’s Secret, but we’ll let you decide and be the judge of the authenticity). Don’t expect the latest collection; this is functional mostly. Men can select from vests and boxers (from surfer brand Body Glove) for INR 60. Didn’t find what you like? They also sell material for shirts and trousers for Rs 200 per meter.  We know that the store is all the way in Mahalaxmi Layout, but we think it’s worth the commute!

Pro-Tip

As it’s a factory reject store, most of the labels have been scratched out, and all sizes may not be available. So be sure to try out what you like before buying it, because they don’t refund or exchange clothes once bought. And you don’t need us to remind you that quality may not always be top notch.
