A luxurious property made in the traditional ‘agraharam’ architecture, Mantra Koodam, by CGH Earth is a window into the past. As the agraharams were, expect the cottages to line the main street as they did in ancient times. Each of the cottages, similar to Chettiyar home, also come with large verandahs, ornate Burmese teak doors and open-air bathrooms. We particularly love the verandah to unwind with a book and a cup of tea. There are two types of cottages to check into the Mantra Cottage, which is the lavish ‘illam’ or home, and the luxurious family home ‘Pannaiyarillam’, inspired by traditional estate owners’ bungalows. Once you step out of the living quarters though, make sure to wander through the coconut groves, stop by for a minute of serenity at the temple shrines dotting the property, and maybe bump into a peacock or two.
Love swimming? Of course there’s a pool which will have you wading in it all day, only to come out for some authentic Cholanadu food.
Oh, now you’re wondering why we say you? Well, we’re giving two lucky LBB users the chance to check into the glorious Mantra Koodam, for a taste of Tamil Nadu's Kumbakonam!
