MITU Recycle Angadi is a charitable trust that works with underprivileged women and makes recycled and upcycled bags, pouches and other accessories.MITU stands for Multiple Initiatives Towards Women. Started by a group of working women in the city, they work towards the cause of menstrual hygiene awareness in villages. The recycle angadi (meaning shop in Kannada) in Malleshwaram is a way for them to raise money to buy sanitary napkins for women in rural areas.
They sell adorable bags, totes, small pouches and even coin purses made out of repurposed sarees . They have on shelves small accessories like hairbands and key chains. In case you’re worried about people judging you for being an alcoholic, be sure to pick up their cloth wine bottle bags. Pick up some of their gift envelopes for those times you don’t have the time to purchase a gift and want to slip some money instead. For you fashionistas, keep an eye out for patchwork bags and colourful beach bags.
They sell sarees, dupattas and curtains as well.
