The movie takes you through the lives of three female African American mathematicians at NASA: Katherine Jonson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae). They play a major role in astronaut John Glenn's launch into orbit. At the same time, they also have to deal with racial and gender discrimination at work.
