Let's face it. We all need a Goss King or Queen who would tell us EXACTLY what celebrities, influencers, founders, movers, and shakers have in their little black book. So, we took on the challenge and chatted with ace stand-up comic, Sonali Thakker. We’ve had the pleasure of attending her stand-up acts whenever she’s visited Bangalore, so naturally, the only thing left was to catch up with her. Her Instagram feed will give you the laughs, travel inspiration – she’s quite the adventurous traveller (also kindly watch her stand-up video bungee jumping) – and fitness goals. We caught up with her in between her travels and stand-up acts to ask her what her favourite things are. From a rucksack to a yoga mat, read on to find out a few of her favourite things…
A Few Of Sonali Thakker's Favourite Things
Charcoal Mask From The Body Shop
I’m a huge fan of face masks, homemade, in-store purchases – the works. I’m constantly trying new products and while I love almost all of The Body Shop’s masks, the charcoal one is my favourite. Long lasting results and I love how minty my face feels after I’ve washed it off.
Rucksack From Wildcraft
I bought this backpack 11 years ago when I was 21, before my first backpacking trip to Himachal and since then, I’ve been on 14-15 backpacking trips and 5 Himalayan treks and this bag has remained solid. It’s been with me through three months backpacking around Europe to chilling nights in Ladakh - probably my longest relationship ever. Best investment.
Noise Cancelling Headphones From JBL
I have phases where I will go for a run every day, and there are times when if I’m staying in a hotel that has a gym then I almost feel compelled to use it. Airpods feel too flimsy like they might fall off any second, so I prefer these, I like solid grip kinda headphones if I’m running and of course, I just couldn’t resist the colour (pink). They’re great quality headphones, lasted me for 3 years so far.
Pouffe From Ikea
I recently got my house done and we’ve thrown a couple of these around the house, it softens the vibe of the room and it’s a great added seating.
Carvaan From Saregama
I love listening to the radio. There, I said it. People go like “who even listens to the radio these days?” Me, I listen. And I mostly get to listen to it just when I’m in the car or taking an Uber, so I invested in this mini Carvaan, it has all your FM stations and pre-loaded songs of singing legends like Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar which is a great vibe to switch into once in a while.
Yoga Mat From Tego Fit
I am a novice yogini. And I would always see people, who looked like they’d been doing yoga for a while, strut around with this mat but I didn’t buy this mat when I first started out because I wasn’t really sure how long would I stick to doing yoga. I didn’t want to just do one class, buy an expensive mat and then like watch it stand still in one corner. But I’ve made the plunge now. It's made of great material adequately cushioned and also has alignments printed on the mat that are very helpful in my practice.
London Pear & Freesia Cologne From Jo Malone
I have this weird quip where I only use one perfume bottle at a time, and then I finish it and never buy the same fragrance again. This is my current fragrance and I love it and am almost tempted to do a second round of this one. Almost.
