Idli For The Win
When it comes to breakfast, there’s nothing more perfect than a plate of idlis served with sambhar and chutney. And taking this perfection to the next level is Hotel Guru. Known for their thatte idlis {plate idli}, the hotel is a haven for travellers who are en route to Mysore or going to the famous rocks of Ramnagara. Two thatte idlis are served with spicy red chutney and aloo saagu {potato curry}, with a dollop of benne {butter} on top of the idlis. The hot fluffy idlis melt the butter in no time leaving you with these idlis that extra soft and extra yum. A plate isn’t really enough we say. Pair it with a vada and you have got yourself the #BreakfastOfChampions. Lemon rice is another item served here, but we say stick to multiple plates of idlis.
A plate of two thatte idlis and one vada is priced at INR 50 while a single thatte idli costs INR 20. Vada, tea, and coffee are priced at INR 10 while lemon rice is at INR 30.
Any Time Is Idli Time
When quizzed about the timings, the cashier excitedly told us that he’s open “365 days a year including government holidays”. Open from 5.30am in the morning, the place serves thatte idlis all day long till 11.30pm. The early hours and late hours work for anyone who’s leaving for Mysore in the wee hours {early morning bike rides anyone?} of the morning or coming back after having spent a day doing things around the palace city.

The chances of you missing this place in Bidadi are really low as there are there are enough and more signboards screaming “Hotel Guru”, including a security guard frantically waving his arms around to grab the attention of the cars zooming. Google Map it if you miss on all of the above.
