Why We Think Andamen Is Changing The Game For Men

It is rare that, in an office dominated by women, we collectively ooh and aaah over men’s shirts that we feel like we just must have ourselves, and must immediately buy for our respective boyfriends, husbands and baes.

Andamen is one such brand, and we couldn’t wait to introduce them to you.

Baby, Don't Shirt Me

In case you hadn’t figured it out already, this ‘contemporary heritage’ men’s shirts brand was inspired by the Andaman islands {is this a thing now?}. In their own words: The part of us that has gone further, to the edge, exploring and discovering, but in its roots, resolutely Indian.

Owners Siddharth and Satvika Suri are passionate about India, and that reflects deeply in all their designs.

Shirt Alert

Apart from their signature collection {we’re loving this}, they also introduce new lines sporadically, all inspired by India in one way or the other. For example, in the Trail of the Ganges collection, we’re digging The Long Snout—it has Gangetic dolphins all over it—and The Gold String, inspired by the brocade weaving from Benaras.

Their newer collection, Tyohaar, is reminiscent of Ladakh’s Hemis festival, and the Desert Festival from Jaisalmer—the motifs and detailing on the shirts are beautifully recreated symbols and artistry from these two events. Our picks would be The Linen Lama {we’ve laid our hands on this shirt, and we can tell you that there is nothing softer}, and the Thangka Prints.

The Dirt On The Shirt

They use only Egyptian cotton; in fact, the material they use is the same that Ermenegildo Zegna uses! They also have free shipping, and while we wouldn’t call this a budget offering, we do feel like every one of you men should have at least one of their shirts in your wardrobes.

And that’s probably the highest praise we’ve ever given.
