Things To Do At MKT

There are a bunch of things you can do at MKT Delhi apart from shopping and eating. Majnu Ka Tila is home to a monastery, tattoo parlours, karaoke rooms, and a Gurudwara that you can go to, for an evening of peace.

Sit In Peace At The Monastery

Majnu Ka Tila is a hub, strewn across in lanes, all connected by a single, golden red monastery at its centre. Visit during noon, and you will be treated to their daily pooja/prayers with a gong. The monastery was initially a refugee spot for Tibetans and now, it stands tall as their religious centre. There are also two other Buddha temples in the vicinity, that you can visit.

Google Rating: 4.5/5

Timings: 9 AM to 9 PM

Visit The Gurudwara Majnu Ka Tila

Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, you can visit this gurdwara to gain a glimpse into Sikh history, spirituality, and a sense of community. It was built during the time of the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, in the early 17th century. The religious site was established to honor the place where Guru Nanak had blessed Majnu, a lover who wanted to meet God (and eventually did).

Timings: Open 24 hours

Get Tatted At Tenzin Tattoos

If you want to take home a permanent Delhi souvenir or take a bold stride towards getting a tattoo, then Tenzin Tattoos at MKT is just the place. This studio is unlike the other studios you find in several other Delhi markets, which makes you skeptical of hygiene. Tenzin is known for his artistry in tattoos, and he also has another outlet in Saket. As someone who got her first tattoo from him, you are in trusted hands with him!

Price: Call them up for pricing and other details.

Timings: 11 AM to 11 PM

Google Rating: 4.9/5

Sing Your Heart Out With Karaoke

Majnu Ka Tila has a lot of restaurants that also have karaoke rooms by the hour. While there are numerous places for karaoke in MKT, we suggest you pick one based on the ambience of the room and the hourly rate, and have food elsewhere, later.

Pro Tip

Looking for the ultimate guide to all the markets in Delhi? We got you!
