Occupying a corner in Gurgaon’s Baani Square lies a small bright cafe with an even smaller outdoor area {complete with sun umbrellas and fake grass} offering comfort food like burgers, sliders, bruschetta, wings and milkshakes.

Chow Down
Trying to make its mark as a modern Australian restaurant, Cafe Kangaroos has a pretty varied menu, where the burgers and sliders hands down steal the show.
We strongly recommend ordering a burger when you’re here, especially if your appetite has you convinced you could eat a horse. We tried the Kangaroo Special Burger {the lamb version. They also have chicken and vegetable} and were pretty happy with our choice. The burger was huge to the point of breaking our jaws, contained a fried egg {you can opt for this to be runny}, a delectable ranch sauce and the patty was juicy and well-spiced.
Be prepared to have sauce running down your chin.
Other highlights included the Chicken Wings and the Souvlaki Platter {this one’s from Greece} solely for its pita bread – which was soft and mildly sweet. Bread lovers, please order this.
Sip On
All that food had us craving a crisp beer, but they don’t serve alcohol, unfortunately. Stick to the aerated drinks for best results; the coffee here is an insipid affair.
Winning For
They’re not very heavy on dessert, but maybe they should be. We picked the Strawberry Crumble Cake {the other option was an Apple Cinnamon Cake} and had to shut up for a few minutes to enjoy the flavours of this super soft creation served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and sprinkled with chocolate shavings.
What Else?
They’ve got some promising stuff for when you just want a quick snack too. We’re definitely going back to try their Animal Fries {sadly, they’re not shaped like lions and T-Rexes} which is a messy basket of fries topped with chicken, bacon, jalapenos and served with nachos. And the sliders.

They also have a delivery-only outlet in DLF Phase IV.
