Olive Bistro has Lovestruck Wednesdays – date nights created exclusively for couples. Turning the lights off, the entire space is lit up with just candles. We think you should call dining in a cave romantic. Let Gufa, a restaurant set up like a cave with mashaals and dim lighting, convince you, as it did us. Every meal is a candlelight special here and the food is just amazing. It's also one of the oldest restaurants in the city that still pulls in a large crowd, and that says a lot. Exotica is a safe bet if you want a proper rooftop candlelight dinner without overthinking it. The restaurant is big, open, and breezy, with tables spread out so you’re not sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with other couples (phew). The menu is nothing but comforting North Indian, Mughlai, and Indo-Chinese, and that means rich curries, kebabs, and buttery naans instead of tiny experimental plates. What you’ll see being passed around is their kebab platters and tandoori starters, followed by biryanis, dals, and creamy gravies that are meant to be shared. Skipping dessert has no excuse with the soft lighting and rose setting the perfect mood to linger longer. The Gulab Jamun with Rabri, and Malai Kulfi with Faluda are worth stuffing in.

Nove is one the few places in the city that actually commits to the italian experience instead of just sprinkling pizza and pasta on a mixed menu. The wooden furniture, dim lighting, and candlelit tables are a treat to the eyes after crossing the Banjara Hills commotion, and thank god for the soft music that adds up. The highlights here are cheese wheel pasta and fried gnocchi pesto. The flavours are bold and the presentation is grand, unlike anything you’ve seen before. A huge block of cheese is brought to you at the table, where the chef melts it and pours it on your pasta. Honestly, there’s so much to try on their menu that it will take you a while to leave. After everything, end your date there with Tiramisu and sweet talk (pun intended).
