Deepika wore this saree for her first appearance as a jury member in Cannes back in 2022. The master couturier and Deepika's close friend Sabyasachi is the genius behind this gorgeous sequinned saree inspired by the colours of the Bengal tiger, a fitting homage to Sabyasachi's home state. We love the traditional meets modern spin on the saree with the strapless sweetheart blouse paired with the Julia Fox-inspired black swan eyeliner.

Moving to recreating the look, a custom Sabya design is hard to beat but you can get a similar vibe with any all-over sequinned saree you might already have in your closet styled with a sultry blouse and hair done in a messy bun. If you are feeling too inspired, attempt the bold-eye look as well for a cocktail party.

Black And White Saree

Simple, elegant, and classic—these are the three words that came to our mind when we saw it. We absolutely love the ninety's inspired vibe with the black and white theme of the flowy saree with minimal detailing and sequins. The blouse is as good as it gets with a simple halter neck and tie detailing at the back. Take notes and accessorise with jewellery in contrasting hues to add some dimension to the overall look.

Recreating this look is really easy, raid your mom's closet for a white georgette saree and get a sequinned black border stitched to it (or simply get the saree we found for you) and team it with a halter top and a pair of stud earrings to keep the look polished. Be careful not to make the look busy by over-accessorising because we want to let the saree be in focus.

Abu Sandeep Cannes Saree

White Organza Ruffle Saree

Another statement saree from Deepika's many iconic Cannes moments. DP wore this Abu-Sandeep number for the closing ceremony in 2022 and left the global fashion police speechless. The look was everything you would expect from a fashion icon acing red carpets like a pro. The dramatic pearl collar gave the saree all the drama it needed to an otherwise sober frilled saree.

Learn from Deepika and have a quintessential statement accessory like a pearl collar to amp up your saree looks without looking OTT. The idea is to draw focus on the collar and keep the details of the saree as flamboyant as possible to tie in the look. Her signature kohled eyes are the way to go if you want to jazz up the look.

Pro-tip: Best kajal sticks we swear by.

Green Banarasi Saree

The regal sea green silk saree with gold zari bootis paired with the light green blouse looks absolutely stunning. Also, shout out to Deepika's stylist Shaleena Nathani, for adding just enough glamour to DP's saree looks always. The gorgeous outfit is styled extremely well with the side-slicked bun and stunning traditional gold jewellery. This one should be on top of your festive look-book if traditional yet sophisticated looks are on your radar for the upcoming Diwali parties.

Take inspiration from the look and style your Banarasi saree with a simple blouse in a different colour to break the monotony. Traditional jewellery in gold always looks ethereal, especially temple jewellery when teamed with a zari saree. We would suggest going all out with bangles and vermilion to seal the deal.

Multicoloured Pleated Saree

Deepika wore this multicoloured saree featuring pleats all over by designer Payal Khandwala for her appearance on KBC. The colour palette has our hearts for all the right reasons—beautiful pastels with pleats all over to give the saree a subtle detailing. The boat neck blouse matches quite well with the lightweight saree and serves major inspiration for those who enjoy wearing light sarees with minimal embellishment to keep it easy-peasy.

Team up a similar pleated saree with splashes of colour for a day function with a pair of jhumkas or chandbalis to dress it up. You can ditch the bun and opt for a low ponytail to make it look sharp and put together. We would suggest skipping on bangles and wearing a sleek watch instead to make it look sleeker and slightly modernised, just what a fun-hued saree needs!

Red Raw Mango Saree

In her post-Padmavat phase, Deepika was seen wearing the most beautiful sarees to almost every public appearance of hers and this red Raw Mango saree is one of those looks that remained pinned on our Pinterest boards permanently for the sake of shaadi season outfit inspo. The colour, stunning zari embroidery on the saree and heavy gold jewellery scream drama in a movie-star kind of way and we are absolutely all for it.

Pro-tip: Don't want to commit to Raw Mango's hefty price tag? Check out alternative brands here.

The look calls for a heavy zari-embroidered saree in a bold colour. Opt for a deeper hue of red, like marsala or wine if the bright red feels too bridal. If you notice, most of Deepika's heavy sarees are styled with a plain blouse to create balance in the look with heavy jewellery to add some oomph. Make a note and opt for mega sleeves over full sleeves so you can wear bangles or kadhas too.

Black And Gold Saree

You can never go wrong with a black saree, can you? This Sabyasachi number is a sight to behold with phenomenal attention to detail on the borders. We noticed that DP almost always has her hair up in a bun when sporting a saree which is a fuss-free hairdo to opt for when you are wearing something not very easy to carry off. All in all, this clean and minimal saree look of hers should be your handbook on how to do it just right when styling a saree.

A simple black saree with detailing on the borders or the pallu would do the trick here. Take inspiration from Deepika and follow her signature cues—sleeved blouse and slicked bun with smokey kohled eyes for the evergreen look that would garner compliments anywhere you go, from board meetings to wedding functions and maybe even your first job interview.

Gold Kanjeevaram Saree

Of course, we had to end the list with our favourite pick. Deepika's wedding outfits have us squeaking with excitement for how stunning they looked. The exquisite saree looked nothing less than a masterpiece from Adyava, a private label of The House of Angadi, a heritage store in Bengaluru that has, for nearly 600 years, been invested in the practice of weaving. The green emeralds in the choker ear studs add a certain charm with that jolt of colour making the overall look a sight to behold.

Not sure if anything can replicate the charisma of a hand-woven kanjeevaram but you can definitely get the look by pairing the saree we found with green stone jewellery and pearl strings. The gajra-clad bun shouldn't be missed and is essential for getting that elegant Rekha-inspired look.

Pro-tip: Check out saree looks inspired by the iconic Rekha here.
