Raasta |You can expect a lot of HKV bars to feature on this list. Relaxed, larger than most of its competitors and perhaps one of the few bars to have a set calendar most weeks, they stay in the vicinity of the Rastafarian culture, reflective in their promotion of Reggae ton, Dance Hall, Dub and old-school Hip Hop. They’ve hosted Mad Boy/Mink, Reggae Rajahs {now regulars}, Nucleya, and Cyanide front man Rohan Solomon – to give you an idea of the genre of live music they tend to program.

Out of the Box |Spread over 3 floors, we recommend getting in early to catch a gig since the stage area is small, almost at ground level, and situated right next to the bar, therefore ensuring it always gets crowded. Past music acts have included Ashish Nagpal, Switch, and Lifafa. Regular nights include their Sunday Sundowners and The Cool Off Tuesdays.
