In all the uncertainty and strangeness the pandemic-struck world we're living in, we learned how important it was to wash, wash, wash your hands! With a whole range of soaps and cleansing What we mean is that make sure you have soap for your handwashing, and nice ones at that! Since LBB is all about shopping local, here are some skin care, bath and beauty brands we've discovered whose soaps we love!

A zero waste brand (so you don’t feel too bad about ordering soap online) Bare Necessities has a range of luxurious feeling soaps. Even if you’re socially isolating, self-quarantined, or going out rarely, their bars will have your regularly washed hands feeling clean, but not dry. Be it their cinnamon soap, or turmeric bar, your hands are in good hands!

Laviche Bath Essentials

Waffle Soap

We can wax eloquent about how much and why we love Laviche Bath Essentials, but in a nutshell - they're fun! From their ridiculously almost edible looking donut and chocolate bar shaped soaps, to their cleansing watermelon soaps, they have made bath time and washing as fun as it can be. Our fave? The unicorn soap obviously.

Well, they have options like Tomato, Orange & Carrot, Apple & Mangosteen, and Papaya Cucumber among others. Maybe you can eat them, but we'd recommend you don't.

Suffuse

Beer Soap - Cool Water

Beer Soap - Cool Water

You by now know that if we had a choice, we'd only pick the cruelty-free, skin-loving and handmade type of soaps but together with this greatness, we want to introduce you to the fun and whacky side of soaps. Suffuse really brings their a-game to the latter. Their fragrance options have put us in a trance, because have you heard of Cold Water Beer, Frozen Yoghurt or Rocky Road Cold Processed Soaps? Oh and they look the part too -- imagine trippy, bright colours and designs.

Melted By Paper Plumes

Alluring Rose Bar With Fresh Rose Petals

With each bar of soap looking like it came straight out of a fairytale, it's hard not to stare and store (and we mean frame and never use) the soaps from Melted By Paper Plumes. They look stunning! They also deliver great results with natural ingredients, we're told. Particularly, the Rose Lavender Shea Garden Soaps that have excellent anti-inflammatory properties,  and our favourite the Watermelon Quencher Glycerin Soap. Anytime you a gifting roadblock, know that this brand will deliver both joy and good skin!

Mandy & Co

Charcoal Coffee Whipped Soap

Whipped Soaps that look like dessert you must definitely indulge in? We were super intrigued by creations from Mandy & Co. Especially the Tropical Paradise that straight up looks like a pina colada in a jar! Other flavours and fragrances include Mango Coconut, Activated Charcoal and Vanilla Cinnamon. They also have regular scented soap bars, again made only using chemical and preservative-free ingredients.

But their online inventory is pretty much identical to what’s available online. Try not to consume the Rose, Cinnamon, and Orange soap while you scrub your hands, or their Vanilla and Oatmeal one either. They also have kid-friendly soaps if you’re worried about your little one.
