There's An All-Malaysian Carnival Coming To Town For The First Time Ever!

What Is It?

The first of its kind, a Malaysian Carnival’s coming to town this weekend, and it’s going to be your crash course on all things Malay. Thrown together by the High Commission of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia, you can binge on a whole bunch of Chicken Satay, be a part of Malaysian craft demos, shop and just generally have a chill day out. And maybe bring your kids too, because there’s lots for them to do too.

Who Is It For?

Outdoorsy peeps who love trying global cuisine, enjoy world music and have been wanting to pick up some gifts and shop {’cause Christmas}, this carnival’s definitely worth stopping by.

Why Should I Go For It?

Because this carnival’s got everything. To keep you entertained, there’s live music and dance performances {there’s even a dancing lion, we kid you not} by Malay artists. In case you get hungry, there are more than 20 stalls offering the best of South East Asian delicacies like Nasi Lemak, chicken rice and noodles, Chicken Satay and the famous Malaysian ‘pulled tea’ called Teh Tarik {made with a cool, Malay pulling technique}. Plus, there are cooking and craft demos for kids and adults where you could pick up {or sharpen} a skill or two. You’d probably find us at the Malaysian batik painting workshops, or throwing our money at the stalls selling Malay handicrafts.

Oh, and your kids are going to go nuts on the bouncy castles and train rides.

There’s food, music, dance performances and games, and the event’s on a Saturday, so there’s no work to use as an excuse not to drop by.

Anything Else?

Winter is NOW and it’s the perfect time for an outdoor carnival, so make a plan with your friends {or fam} and catch up over Chicken Satay and noodles.

When: 9th December, 9am – 4pm
