Photo Exhibition: Macondo, The World of Gabriel García Márquez

Using a medium format camera with black and white film, photojournalist Fausto Giaccone travels, traces and interprets places mentioned in Nobel Prize winner, Gabriel Garcia Marquez's works.

Macondo, The World of Gabriel García Márquez is an exhibition that uses Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude to map Columbia with photographs. The virtual guide of One Hundred Years of Solitude served the artist well and led to his discovery of “not only the best contemporary Colombian literature, but also its topography, its history, its traditions and its pain, its light and its shadows.”
