Show Your True Colours with These Adult Colouring Books

Well, the winds of change have been blowing for a while, and the adult colouring book trend is here. We’re totes getting on that bandwagon. While we have a number of Indian artists doing stellar jobs, you can also bust some stress with these online picks:

The Big Book of Mandalas

Our inner cheapskate is so happy with this buy that we can’t stop gushing about it. With over 200 pages full of Mandala designs, this is a colouring book that is worth its price.

If you’re a fan of patterns and not figures then the internet is full of options for you. We can also recommend The World’s Best Mandala Stress Management book  and the Mindfulness Colouring Book.

Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest and Lost Ocean

Called an An Inky Treasure Hunt and Coloring Book, we love Johanna Basford’s intricate doodling in these gorgeous books. The newer editions feature thicker stock paper, so you can also use ink or sketch pens without the fear of bleeding. Some of the editions also have pull out and frame pages that you can preserve forever on a shelf.

The drawings imitate rich oceans, lush forests and green spaces, but of course you can express yourself however you want with these.

Indian Summer – A Jewelled Journey Through Indian Pattern and Colour

A part of the Really Relaxing Colouring Book series, this paperback is enough to make you feel proud and patriotic. Making you work out your hassles through Indian motifs and traditional designs, this book lets you channel your inner henna artiste.

We aren’t super happy with the quality of paper used in this one, so make sure you only use crayons or pencil colours. Also look out for some repetitive patterns.

A budget option, we’re told that the quality and intricacy of art in this book is addictive. You can keep on colouring in between the lines and forget the time completely. Award-winning illustrator Lizzie Mary Cullen explores hidden cities and urban landscapes {much like LBB, no?}. Look out for hidden details in every page of this book.
